CLEANING, MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING OF PLATE HEAT EXCHANGERS
The plate heat exchanger is a highly efficient and versatile heat exchanger design. Thanks to the large surface of their corrugated plates, plate heat exchangers have very good heat transfer efficiency. But similar to other heat exchanger types, plate heat exchangers can become polluted over time, which significantly affects their cooling capacity. Periodic cleaning and maintenance ensure that your heat exchanger – and consequently your engine or technical system – can continue to run at peak output.
MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING OF YOUR PLATE HEAT EXCHANGER
Cleaning and repairing plate heat exchangers is a specialist job and needs to be done with the utmost care. The plates are all individually cleaned, checked for fissures or cracks and fitted with new gaskets. Among other things, cleaning a plate heat exchanger includes the following activities:
– Disassembly
– High-pressure preliminary cleaning
– Chemical cleaning
– Inspection of the individual plates with special crack detection equipment
– Fitting of new gaskets (possibly followed by vulcanisation)
– Re-assembly and hydraulic pressure testing
